Attaining complete knowledge of the site execution plan, time schedule, scope of supply / work, scope of civil works, Lead Civil Consortium Partner, Major subcontracts, budget and account structure, status of documentation, EHS plan, site staffing plan, applicable local regulations, restrictions etc.

Job Description

  • Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope.
  • Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team.
  • Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role.
  • The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. Manage and coordinate Site Installation activities at site.
  • The Turbine leader has to ensure that Site Installation activities are performed in line with contractual, engineering, quality and safety requirements of the project.
  • The Turbine leader to promote project opportunities and cost optimization initiatives within the project. Roles and Responsibilities Supervisory roles (i.e. site manager) that are responsible for ENTIRE scope of site activities during ITO and/or OTR phase, acting under the direction and on behalf of the overall project leader.
  • Leads site team and manages execution of the project scope of work. Could also be managing multiple sites for the project. Ensures schedule, quality and cost are in compliance with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulations.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining safety in the project area. Respect EHS and insists his team respects EHS and ensure all individuals follow EHS as per GE requirements and guidelines sincerely.
  • Ensures quality at workplace is always maintained and not sacrificed.
  • To review and validate detailed planning of each activity within the scheduled duration with clear measurable progress parameters.
  • To review and validate prepared detailed resources required for each activity within the limits and reasonable backup.
  • To review and validate prepared the division of work among the group within the project.
  • To review and validate prepared project specific erection procedure and ensure site conditions and requirements are taken care in preparing project specific erection procedures.
  • To review prepare risk assessment and action plan for every activity and ensure validation by EHS representative and review with all his team and actions defined.
  • Responsible for arranging resources to his site team of supervisors for timely completion with safety and quality.
  • Responsible for arranging all documents and drawing, engineering inputs, quality are made available for every activity to his site team.
  • Review and validate site tests requirements are identified, planned and organized by his site team in line with contractual and engineering requirement.
  • Ensure all the requirements are met in work front handing over and taking over from and to client and within inter departmental by his site team.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of NCR.
  • Responsible for identification and allocation among the teams as per the priority and scheduled planning.
  • Responsible Identification and ensuring precession tools availability in good usable condition and with valid test certificate and calibration certificate.
  • Responsible for monitor the works and list out all punch points and ensure that the punch points are mostly closed before handing over to the commissioning team.
  • Ensure site team provides all reports after complete review and the reports are being provided to site planner,
  • Conducts regular site audits, defines action plan, communicates and archives the audit report.
  • Ensures the compliance of all action plans defined and properly closed.

Required Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Membership of Professional Engineering Institution.
  • At Least 15 Years of Experience Construction Management of Large Construction Project / Hydro Projects.

(Preferable Hydro Project)

  • Appropriate experience and training in general leadership and management technique.
  • High proficiency in English required.
  • Proficiency in the Local Malaysian & Chinese Language may be added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Contract requirement of FIDIC Type of Contracts.

Special Requirement:

  • Should hold valid CIDB License (Construction Industry Development Board) to work in Sarawak Region, East Malaysia.
  • Preferable Local Sarawakian candidate.
