Lead training engineer id expected to perform and lead all GE Substation Automation System field services training related activities for both employees and customers, including delivering product, system and process trainings
and providing ongoing support to ensure the standard and quality of field service execution
Job Description
What you'll do;
- Identify, assess & review the training needs of the team, products and projects.
- Organize and designed site and Factory training courses to match the customer requirements.
- Develop technical automation training manuals & program that target tangible results for both Utility and industrial customers to ensure that they are effective & up to date & makes updates as necessary.
- Implement effective and purposeful technical Training methods.
- Effective manage the training budget.
- Create a curriculum to facilitate strategic Automation training based on the customers' requirements & goals.
- Schedules training sessions & makes Training plan.
- Optimize the training process through customer feedback to meet their satisfaction.
- Present new GE platforms & new solutions through training and technical presentation for customers.
- Man-days (MD) estimation and MD control to be within the estimation of the/sales/tendering/ projects/tech support works for Training scope.
- Work closely with ITO team to support new opportunities preparation and negotiations. This includes conducting site surveys and deals estimations.
- Manage customer trainings for projects, stand-alone requests in product,
- Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy
- Good understanding of the GE business processes, costing, tendering, contracting practices, T&C, and logistics.
- Ability to Provide and manage online Trainings inside GE and for customers.
- Develops, deliver & administers training programs for GE employees.
- Has knowledge of Power system scheme in SABAP cluster.
- Experience in utility & industrial area power system designs, schemes and communications.
- Experience in GE automation products IED's and software.
- Experience in protection relays testing, commissioning with test kit tools for T&C and how know to make simulation files for relays.
- Experience in all protection Relay types testing procedures and preparing test reports.
- Experience in site T&C and projects execution for relays upgrading, modifications and T&C.
- Have knowledge in relays configuration, CID, communication, and wiring.
- Experience in site relays maintenance, faults analysis, setting calculations & troubleshooting.
- All field services training related activities for both employees and customers, including delivering product, system and process trainings and providing ongoing support and feedback to ensure the standard and quality of field service execution
- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications);
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineer /Power System.
- minimum of 10 years' experience in Protection system in Substation technical/T&C/ services/works in EPC, Utilities and industrial.
- Experience in Industrial & Utility EHS & site requirements.
- Outstanding written, communication, presentation/ training skills.
- Proficient in conflict resolution, group interaction and team building.
- Fluent in English and Arabic Language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
