Job Description Summary
A performance test engineer will be executing highly technical services on various gas turbine, steam turbine, and Combined cycle plant configurations. The successful execution of these global services will require that the engineer adhere to internal processes while being open to challenges that may arise. Engineers are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services. Areas of customer quality include accurate/timely documentation, appropriate/timely installation of instrumentation, accurate collection of field data, various site activities, and communications.
The position requires approximately 50% travel in 1 to 4 week intervals, to destinations around the world. ** This is an estimate; travel requirements vary, with peak outage seasons seeing higher percentages and peak demand seasons seeing less travel.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test procedures in accordance with contracts and international standards
- Prepare, plan, and execute field thermal performance tests
- Analyze data, calculate test results, diagnose and evaluate testing and thermal performance issues
- Analyze and develop thermal performance corrective actions as needed
- Prepare test reports for internal and external distribution
- Execute statistical risk and error propagation analyses
- Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding testing activities, schedules, technical issues, and test results
- Support continued development and improvement of performance analysis tools and processes.
- Support new service development initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in thermal performance engineering)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and thermodynamic cycles as they relate to power generation
- Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments (up to 50%)
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Prior experience in power plant performance testing and analysis
- Training or proficiency in turbine design
- Fluent in the English language
- Familiarity with thermal imaging technologies
- Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must be a self - starter that can work issues to completion with little or no outside assistance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to business leaders and customers
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Desire for continual improvement and skills development
- Desire to bring forward creative new ideas to help shape future growth opportunities
The base pay range for this position is 69,600.00 - 104,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% bonus.
