Job Description Summary

responsible for the Engineering & Field Services of the Telecom Equipment, Telecom Network and NMS including (MPLS-TP, SDH, PDH, Optical Boosters, GPS Synchro Systems, Tele protection, PLC (Power Line Carrier), PABX, IP Phones Gateways, IP Routers, L2/L3 Switches, NMS systems, 48VDC System). This position will report to the GA SABAP CIC Engineering Leader.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Engineering & Field Services of the Telecom Equipment, Telecom Network and NMS including (MPLS-TP, SDH, PDH, Optical Boosters, Telecom Network Synchronization, GPS Synchro Systems, Tele-protection, PLC (Power Line Carrier), PABX, IP Phones Gateways, IP Routers, L2/L3 Switches, NMS systems, 48VDC System).
  • Take the complete ownership of technical activities for assigned projects (Site Survey, Engineering, Design, Traffic Migration Planning, Ordering Material, follow up material delivery, Follow Up and Support Panels Integration, Pre-FAT Internal Validation, FAT with customer, Supervise Site installations, Conduct Site testing and commissioning, Site Red mark-up and As Built Drawings, system troubleshooting and rectification).
  • Monitor and analyze the Telecom Network Performance and stability and take early actions to avoid telecom services degradation.
  • Analyze customer requirements & specifications to propose innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Generate Purchase Requests for Materials required under the project with technical description.
  • Participate with Project manager in customer, end user, subcontractor, and internal meetings.
  • Manage project document flow.
  • Follow the departments standard design process and contribute to continuously improving it.
  • Generate design documents of the project.
  • Co-ordination with the integration team at the Integration Facility to ensure smooth operation of integration activity with relation to materials and documentation.
  • Lead and conduct Pre-FAT Internal Validation and FAT with customer.
  • Lead and conduct Site installations supervision, Site testing and commissioning, Site Red mark-up and As Built Drawings, system troubleshooting and rectification.
  • He / She will be in regular interface with other units of the region, the various departments of the Grid Automation in SPAB region (engineering, service, logistics, purchasing, R&D), customers (internal and external), partners and suppliers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and /or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and commissioning of Utility Communication systems (SDH, PDH, Optical Boosters, Telecom Network Synchronization, Tele-protection, PLC (Power Line Carrier), PABX, IP Phones Gateways, IP Routers, L2/L3
  • Practical experience in Utility Communication systems engineering, product selections, Network Planning, Telecom Network Synchronization planning, Equipment Configuration, Solution Validation, FAT, site installations supervision, Site testing and commissioning, as well as system troubleshooting and rectification.
  • Good knowledge of IT/OT Networking.
  • knowledge of Cyber security solutions implementation in the field of Utility Communication will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge and use of CAD software's such as AutoCAD, MS-VISIO.
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly understand and guide solutions to customer issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on innovative and creative solutions that result in higher profitability, increased visibility & market penetration.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on experience in design
  • Good knowledge in design process

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in OEM Company / System Integrator Company / or EPC Company in Pakistan.
  • Experience in working with NTDC or having knowledge of Pakistan utility network will be preferred.
  • CCNA certified or equivalent will be preferred.
  • Candidate must have minimum experience of 3 - 4 years and in depth working knowledge of design engineering and testing commissioning of Telecom technologies Optical line systems DWDM, MPLS
  • Have experience in SAS and protection systems engineering and design
  • Preferred to have knowledge of communication protocols such as MODBUS, IEC 101/104/103/61850.
  • Excellent in MS-Office package (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong presentation and training skills.
  • Proactive work style, creativity, high energy, Strong teamworking skills.
  • Fast learner, willing to learn new technologies improve his technical capabilities.
  • Strong Time Management skills, and ability to work under stress and react positively to sudden requests from internal and external customers and stakeholders.
