The Technology Director - Electrical Systems & Software (ESS) is a critical executive role at GE Vernova Advanced Research responsible for driving innovative research in the electrical and digital domains, including core areas such as electrical power systems, electronics, power conversion, controls and optimization, AI, robotics, and computer vision. A key part of the role includes partnering with the GE Vernova businesses and external partners to deliver science-driven breakthrough developments for a wide range of products and services to enable the Energy Transition.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
The Technology Director - ESS will:
- Create and drive technical strategy for the global organization, maintain a talented pool of scientists and engineers, anticipate, and drive future technology focus areas for GE Vernova and our partners (DOE, DOD etc.). Close the gap on technical expertise and resources to fulfill those future focus areas.
- Ensure both evolutionary and disruptive innovation is on a pathway to deliver impact and continue to articulate value to GE Vernova, our partners and the world.
- Partner with the GE Vernova businesses to identify new breakthrough applications for physical sciences and engineering technologies
- Build mutually beneficial relationships with our innovation ecosystem: a broad group of key external stakeholders (government agencies, universities, and research partners). Represent the organization to external audiences in a wide variety of engaging formats.
- Engage in leadership of the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center, partnering across the Missions, Technology organizations and functions to maximize vitality, formulate strategies, and execute on strategic initiatives
- Develop the next generation of technical leaders and researchers in electrical, controls, software and beyond
- Leverage internal and external networks to create innovative partnerships, new breakthroughs and opportunities that drive strategic growth
- Create and support a culture of technical excellence, teamwork and respect/trust
- Champion key strategic initiatives and drive synergies across the Advanced Research Center to ensure technology innovation and create long term growth in the materials field.
- Ensure metrics for organization are met, including financial, compliance, diversity and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
- Exemplify and champion the GE Vernova Way - drive innovation, serve the customer, embrace LEAN, win as one-team, and be accountable to deliver.
Required Qualifications
- PhD Degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Minimum 15 years of experience in progressively more responsible technical positions with at least 8 of those years leading large (>40 person) technical teams
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, New York
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
