As the Supplier Quality Readiness Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring suppliers are prepared to meet our growing production demands. Your focus will be managing supplier readiness and capacity at part level. You will also validate capacity before and during ramp up phases. In addition, you will support supplier evaluation/audits to final inspections to verify compliance with technical and quality requirements before shipment is released from suppliers' site.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet production readiness including materials, inspection instruments, tooling and processes
- Participate in supplier design / engineering review and approval process and internal NPI (New Product Introduction) process
- Assure quality through approval of Manufacturing Process Plan (MPP), Product and Process Quality Plan (PQP), product quality reviews, verification of quality documentation, monitoring of compliance and qualification completions / closures
- Ensure quality consistency and reduce variation in processes through First Piece Qualification (prototype), pilot lot approvals (when required) and with ongoing serial production
- Identify potential risks in supply chain and implement action plans to address gaps and ensure continuity of supply
- Conduct capacity audits at part level to ensure compliance and min/max quantities are achievable & respected
- Lead process improvement efforts using GE Renewable Energy Quality systems, tools and procedures to drive process quality improvements and leverage statistical tools for evaluation of process capability on critical-to-quality (CTQ) part / component characteristics
- Participate in cause analysis (RCA), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) for process improvement, and preventive / corrective action as required
- Conduct surveillance audits to ensure compliance

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Quality Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing dimensional inspections with strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation
- dustry NORMS (ASME, ASTM, Welding, NDT, Coatings).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with Suppliers & Supplier Audits
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with quality assurance tools: Process Capability, Measurement Systems Analysis, Error Proofing, Statistical Process Control
- Minimum 3 years of experience inspecting Aluminum Castings, Spun Aluminum, Enclosures, Steel Structures, and/or related processes using in
- ASQ Certification
- Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills RCA methods, 8D, FMEA
- Must be self-motivated to handle multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Proficiency in MS Office with proven excel spreadsheet skills
- Related sourcing and/or manufacturing experience
