Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Work on a team in a fast-paced agile development environment implementing cloud-based software in a Java development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. Implement User Stories by developing and enhancing sprint-boot-based applications following GE Digital's SDLC and Quality guidelines. Refine and breakdown User Stories with the team and develop software design for implementation. Troubleshoot, debug and fix issues reported in existing software, addressing issues as presented and identifying/addressing underlying causes. Develop unit and automated tests to validate your software as it is developed. Embrace the world-class level of quality in all work that enables delivery of enterprise-class software to support the electrical network and literally keeps the lights on. Practice and promote continuous improvement in both individual and team activities. Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables. Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques. Understand performance parameters and assess application performance. Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) plus 4 years of work related experience in an engineering and development occupation. Employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) plus 3 years of work related experience in an engineering and development occupation in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and 4 years of work related experience as described above.
Position also requires 3 years of experience with Java, Spring-Boot and cloud development, 1 year of experience in designing REST APIs, and 1 year of experience with Go Lang. 100% remote role. Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting, must report into GE offices in Bothell, WA.
Salary for this position is $163,862.00/yr
For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $163,862.00 -$183,000.00 annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 10% variable incentive compensation.
