Job Description Summary

As a senior software engineer of Controls Platform SW team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing software products used for configuring and managing control system for a power plant application. You will work closely with our teams across Power, network and collaborate with experts, enabling the adoption of contemporary software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to deliver innovative software solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work in an Agile development environment
  • Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of features, whole feature area or entire software product.
  • Develop complex software solutions based on C#.net technology.
  • Collaborate with internal customers / users in a global environment to fully understand user stories and use cases
  • Own and manage multiple products at once, including the maintenance of legacy applications
  • Create customized product documentation for fellow developers as well as users
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to perform complex tasks.
  • Demonstrate technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
  • Track technology trends and drive innovations in the product.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software development with 5 + years in .net Technology
  • Should have good knowledge on building modular applications based on n-tier architecture with sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

Desired Characteristics

  • Working knowledge of Software Design Patterns, Test-driven Development practices and modern coding principles
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies such as CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Experience with Multithread and Asynchronous programming
  • Prior experience of hands on development with real-time operating systems and firmware or low-level drivers would be an added advantage
  • Experience working with Industry protocols like MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN, Ethernet, IEC61850, IEC104
  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
  • Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
