GE Vernova seeks Specialist in Stores and Inventory Management to join our North Europe cluster team based in Stafford.
This critical role involves overseeing inventory and store management processes.
You will utilise SAP, implement methodologies such as Kanban, Kaizen, 5S and maintain compliance with environmental health & safety (EHS) standards.
Additionally, the role requires a forward-thinking approach to proactively initiate innovative processes leveraging modern technologies to enhance efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, design and testing during validation / FAT, will be integral to this role.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Goods Handling and Inventory Oversight
- Manage all Goods In/Out activities to ensure timely and accurate processing while fulfilling & maintaining essential documentation.
- Use SAP to monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring alignment with operational needs and customer requirements.
- Regularly review stock levels of consumables ensuring the availability of critical items, e.g. cables, connectors, and lugs without overstocking.
Testing Devices, Calibration & Issuance
- Oversee the issuance of testing devices to stakeholders such as Project Managers (PMs), Testing Engineers, and Design Engineers, based on their requests.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly assigned, logged, and returned in a timely manner.
- Implement a clear schedule for calibrating testing devices and components (e.g. relays), ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
Store Operations and Organization
- Develop and maintain an organised and efficient store layout to streamline operations.
- Monitor stock conditions and conduct periodic audits to ensure proper storage and handling.
Process Improvement and Efficiency
- Lead and sustain initiatives such as Kanban, Kaizen, and 5S to improve operational workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Standardize processes in compliance with GE Vernova's operational and quality standards.
- Proactively initiate innovative process leveraging technologies
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Enforce EHS policies and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct regular safety checks and address risks in storage and handling processes.
Reporting and Documentation
- Generate reports on inventory, quality metrics and EHS performance for management review.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all inventory and quality assurance activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure alignment between inventory processes and project deliverables.
- Liaise with the Operations Management Leadership team to provide updates and support strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to streamline supply chain activities.
Logistics Management
- Manage incoming and outgoing goods, including completed Grid Automation cubicles and loose items.
- Oversee loading and unloading safe practices, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing and Storage or equivalent qualification , with additional demonstrated of hands-on Experience in Warehouse Management.
- Proven expertise in inventory management, store operations, and quality assurance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- IOSH Managing Safety certificate (In-depth understanding of EHS standards and practices).
- Knowledge of Inventory Management Software, ideally SAP.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Kanban, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- (Ideally) Fork Lift Truck operators license (for understanding).

- Experience in the electrical equipment manufacturing industry or similar sectors.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams while managing cross-functional projects effectively.
