Job Description
The Software Development Intern will join a fast-paced team of developers working towards PlanOS, a web-based, data-driven electric power engineering simulation platform. The successful intern will work as part of a team to design, develop, test, and release this software in accordance with their interests and team needs.
What You Will Do:
- Learn, develop, test, and release code relating to data design, data import and export, external APIs, AWS infrastructure development as needed
- Participate in developer quality assurance activities, including writing unit tests
- Attend and contribute to software design meetings
- Present on areas of interest to software team members
- Present a midterm and end of term summary of accomplishments and lessons learned
Internship Term Dates:
January 2025 - April 2025
Expected Work Schedule:
Day/1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)
What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited university or college
- One semester experience programming in Python
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Code
- Experience developing in Python
- Experience developing in C#
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including at least design, development, quality assurance, and developer operations
- Experience working as a part of a team, especially geographically-distributed teams
- Success working with clients as a representative of a business or corporation
- Strong writing, speaking, and communication skills

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergrate/graduate field of study completed.
