Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join the Control and Automation Testing Team. This role is focusing primarily on our Dynamic Positioning product. This is a hands-on kit role, with the opportunity to work on a full system from field station, industrial controller, network up to HMI workstation. You will support testing and validation efforts, utilizing your expertise in automated test runs and tools. There's scope to bring your ideas to improve the way we deliver the quality of our products and identify how we can bring more of our manual testing to automated testing. You will play a critical role in ensuring the Safety, Security, Reliability and Performance of our products and systems. You should have an appreciation of the different priorities that steer the requirements of industrial systems - particularly with cybersecurity, availability and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver validation activities for controls and automation products and systems (particularly Dynamic Positioning Systems), ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations e.g. ANSI/ISA18.2, ISA-95, IEC IEC62443
  • Develop and execute validation activities with comprehensive test plans, test specifications.
  • Utilize automated testing tools and identify new tools that would improve quality and safety.
  • Analyse test results, identify issues, and work closely with other test engineers and development teams to resolve defects.
  • Maintain a detailed documentation of validation processes, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve validation methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Industry recognized certifications e.g. ISTQB.
  • Understanding and appreciation OT Technologies & SCADA/DCS/Purdue model.
  • Experience in validation engineering.
  • Proven experience with automated testing tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to Automation & Controls Validation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Power, Marine, Oil and Gas, Industrial domains.
  • Experience in Cyber Security validation and Pen Testing. OT Cyber Security Certification would be a bonus.
  • Experience of project management tools (e.g. JIRA/Xray)
