We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is vital to ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of GE Vernova's IT infrastructure. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will manage complex systems, support critical IT operations, and lead initiatives to enhance our technological capabilities.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation of IT infrastructure. Including supporting the on call 1 in 6-week rota
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect systems and data from breaches and vulnerabilities.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various IT systems.
- Multi location site monitoring
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.
- Lead efforts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures accurately.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration.
- VXrail, VM and Wintel experience essential
- Knowledge of DMZ functionality and management essential
- Knowledge of OnPrem Veeam backup solutions and configuration essential
- VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP) or equivalent qualifications.
- Solid knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP) and storage technologies (iSCSI, NFS).
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows systems in virtualized environments.
- Experience in backup and disaster recovery strategies for VMware infrastructure
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
- Significant experience in systems administration or a related IT role.
- Experience managing complex IT environments and large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with on prem and air gapped services and technologies.
- A full UK driving license and availability for on-call support
