Job Description Summary

The Software & Controls Engineering Manager leads a global team, driving innovative controls solutions for energy storage and solar initiatives, while ensuring successful New Product Introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle support (PVE) for multi-generation product plans. This role owns the technical implementation of software and controls for AC and DC systems, power conversion, and plant-level controls, including customer interface systems. The Manager collaborates with Product Leadership and is accountable for all software and controls engineering aspects of new product development, product upgrades, cost reduction, obsolescence management, service, and root cause analysis.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Solar and Storage Software & Controls engineering team, developing systems to drive growth for the GEVernova Power Conversion & Storage business, focusing on Solar and Energy Storage segments.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering, Product Engineering, and Product Leadership on product and technology roadmap development to maintain industry leadership.
  • Manage the engineering team through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including tollgate reviews with businessleadership.
  • Direct and coordinate detailed engineering activities to achieve critical product KPIs, supporting the GE Vernova PowerConversion & Storage business strategy.
  • Represent GE Vernova at industry events and within professional societies, actively engaging and contributing to the field.
  • Partner with other GE Vernova technology organizations and teams to accelerate cost-effective technology development.
  • Manage engineering budgets and the change control process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Masters degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with developing software & controls.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar role.
  • Familiar with the GE NPI Process and Reviews
  • Relevant Industry Experience
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally to maximize results for the business
  • Ability to work as a team with individuals at all levels of the organization to achieve results
