Job Description Summary

The Senior Manager - Risk Management will develop and integrate risk management processes to meet GEH-Canada SMR LLC's business needs. This role will lead complex risk management activities for BWRX300, a large-scale Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project. Involvement in long-term planning activities, including participation in the overall business and project strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Drive organizational and functional improvement, in order to achieve business and project goals.
  • Leads Risk Management activities within Advanced Nuclear for Small Modular Reactors for large-scale EPC Projects.
  • Services as expert and primary point of contact for Risk Management within Advanced Nuclear.
  • Guide strategic development of product/program specific risk management/mitigation processes.
  • Develop risk-based modeling approach to quantify project risk at both strategic (e.g., portfolio) and transactional level (e.g., project-based cost index & model);
  • Develop risk categories using qualitative and quantitative approach.
  • Benchmark internal and external project risk management processes best practices.
  • Work closely with Project Delivery and Operations teams and leadership to develop strategy for implementation.
  • Interface and work with cross business project risk managers and others in risk to establish risk categories.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive review processes and documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience (nuclear industry engineering/operations experience, project management, risk management, construction management, contracts management or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of risk management or project management experience.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally 10% of the time.
  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

  • Project management experience in power industry.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Contract management or negotiation experience
  • High energy level - self-starter.
  • Technical knowledge of commercial nuclear reactors and associated systems.
  • Microsoft suite proficiency.
  • Lean Implementation and/or Six Sigma training.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills.

The base pay range for this position is $128 - $170K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 2/8/25.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
