The Senior Project Manager for Procurement - Advanced Nuclear, has responsibility to provide project management of the procurement and site delivery of advanced nuclear plant components in support of a commercial project. You will work collaboratively with the Project Director for Procurement, the Supply Chain Leaders, and Procurement Engineers to manage Supplier performance to purchase order requirements, cost, and schedule to deliver high quality outcomes for a BWRX-300 project. The ideal candidate is a leader with passion for nuclear energy, excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive successful project outcomes.

  • Reports to the Advanced Nuclear Project Management Leader and reports functionally to the Project Director for Procurement for the Nuclear Island.
  • Responsible for GEH scope of Supply for BWRX-300 project fabrication activities, any required qualification, completion of witness/hold points, all required vendor records and certifications, logistics/shipping, on-site handling, and technical services associated with installation and commissioning.
  • Perform production oversight of key suppliers.
  • Coordinate & chair regular project meetings with customer teams, internal team, and/or supplier teams; preparing supporting materials as required.
  • Lead, draft, and issue project management meeting notes, action item lists, and project progress reports as required.
  • Interface with owner and constructor on all aspects of equipment supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Interact effectively with multiple levels of the functional team from Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and Quality to build consensus on commercial, technical, and compliance issues.
  • Support the procurement team to define scope and negotiate effective procurement contracts including interfaces with Customer and Key internal stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight and management of Supplier deliverables, related to procurement, QC, and financials (including cost forecasting and control).
  • Monitor project cost and schedule progress related to procurement efforts and takes actions to address variances.
  • Manage procurement risks and scope changes by Suppliers.
  • Interface with senior management at Suppliers as needed to ensure project quality and adherence to procurement PO standards and requirements.
  • An on-site technical person at Suppliers' facility as required for the duration of component fabrication supporting review, witness, and hold points per the GEH approved inspection and test plan.
  • Support of nonconformances review and acceptance.
  • Expedite review of procurement deliverables to ensure the intended turnaround time.
  • Ensures Supplier invoicing is accurate and timely.
  • Monitor project performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Manage change orders as needed to address project scope changes or non-standard events.
  • Mentor and guide junior project managers, sharing expertise and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years with nuclear construction practices
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management or Procurement.
  • Minimum 3 years managing medium- to large-scale projects (with multi-disciplinary team and project).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to locate at the Supplier location in Canada as dictated by business.
  • Willingness to work night and weekend shifts as required.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to Nuclear Plants.
  • Ability to pass Fitness For Duty requirements.
  • 25% Travel

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum 5 years of Nuclear Industry work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects with the ability to manage complex work packages (with multi-disciplinary team and project).
  • PMP Certification or Past supervisory experience.
  • Open communication style and ability to develop team relationships, including vendors and global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers and technical support teams.
  • Strong grasp of reactor vessel internal hardware design issues, balanced with understanding of complexities of field delivery.
  • Flexible to changing environment and work relationships.
  • Ability to rapidly identify problems and contribute to prompt resolution.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Use of GEH support systems (i.e., PLM, Box, RedShare, Oracle, Primavera P6, Tableau)
  • Technical writing background
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build trust with customers, managers, and team members.
  • Ability to distill complex information and focus on critical priorities.
  • Ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy, based on best available information.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment.
  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
