As a Senior Project Manager ACS (m/f/d), you will take on the central role in the leadership and implementation of large and complex AC substation turnkey projects or electrical packages for high-voltage switchgears and substations in distribution and transmission networks. With your expertise and leadership talent, you lead interdisciplinary teams and are responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards, optimizing processes and maximizing project success. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a Large & Complex Full Turnkey (EPC) onshore and/or offshore project for AC substations in distribution and transmission systems up to 420 kV as sole contractor or within a consortium including Design, Supply, Construction, Electro-mechanical Installation and Testing & Commissioning works. Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources.
  • Managing the Project team comprising of Project Management and other functions (Engineering, Project Cost Control, Finance, EHS, Quality, Construction & Contract Management) to drive and control the project activities in strict adherence to the processes and procedures.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering and seamlessly integrate your expertise into project planning and execution.
  • Partnering with all project stakeholders (internal & external), you are accountable for project delivery to specification, budget, on time and up to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • You measure, optimise, and report the key operational & financial indicators of the project in accordance with the applicable governance and pacing cycles. You take responsibility for the margin of the project and maximize profit and cash at each phase of the project.
  • Understands and demonstrates financial management for the benefit of the Company, can understand financial reports and systems sufficiently to know the financial status of a project, at any given time. Ensures that resources are best utilised.
  • Supports settlements & claims in accordance with contract and the analysis of root cause of deviations and fosters continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate EHS leadership. You live a safety culture by example and see safety as a top priority. You integrate EHS requirements into the project organization and contribute to the sustainable implementation of the projects.
  • Identifies all parties (internal & external stakeholders) having a vested interest in the project and ensures their needs and impacts are balanced to make sure that there is a win-win outcome in line with the contractual obligations.
  • Implements a risk management plan involving all stakeholders of the project. Consistently tracks all risk activities through the life cycle of the project. Puts in place accurate performance metrics to score risk and ensures communication of risk.
  • Demonstrates the ability not only to manage the overall scope of the project but also to oversee the scope of each participating entity to ensure all interfaces/overlaps are understood.
  • Responsible for all aspects of communication within the project and customer including reporting to management
  • You implement the highest quality standards and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • You constantly strive for continuous improvement and use appropriate lean management methods.
  • Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience in international Project Management & Turnkey Project Management, preferably High Voltage Substations, experience in Offshore Grid Connections is a plus
  • Certified by PMI, IPMA, PRINCE2 or equivalent
  • Ba/MSc-Engineer in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering specialized in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Fluent in Polish and in English with the ability to read and understand contracts in the respective languages. Extensive oral and written communication skills. German is a plus.
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces in a matrix organization and high local content
  • Experience of team building and team culture development
  • Management of projects with severe financial, technical, and commercial risk
  • Experience in P&L objectives
  • Willingness to work in different locations for short periods and to travel world-wide
