GE Hitachi is a leading designer of nuclear power plants, specializing in the development of the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) for global deployment through large-scale capital projects. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Capital Project Delivery Project Information Manager (PIM) to join our dynamic team.

In this key headquarters role, the Project Information Manager will oversee the commercialization and consistent application of project information management standards for our expanding fleet of SMR capital projects. The PIM will collaborate with project teams in the early phases of the project lifecycle to establish appropriate standards, data models, and information management roadmaps. As the project progresses, the PIM will transition to coordinating with follow-on project teams to ensure adherence to these standards and their consistent application throughout the project.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

As the Senior Project Information Manager, you will support the BWRX-300 Project Delivery in the following manner:

  • Digital Strategy: Champion and drive the implementation of a cohesive Information Management and Information Technology strategy across multiple projects. Act as the design authority to ensure alignment as projects progress into defined stages and cohesive teaming arrangements are established.
  • Information Management Plans and Processes: Lead the localization and execution of a comprehensive Information Management Plan that aligns with project objectives. Ensure the effective collection, storage, and dissemination of data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Information Technology Collaboration: Collaborate with internal IT departments and partner organizations to implement the digital strategy, ensuring adherence to sound IT principles and integrity in processes
  • Cyber and Compliance: Work closely with internal Cybersecurity and Export Control teams to establish and maintain robust processes that support GEH objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation Control: Localize, implement, and oversee document control processes to effectively manage project documentation. Ensure compliance with internal standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure that project IM functions facilitate clear communication among project stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on project status and information management practices.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data on multiple projects working with individual project teams, generate reports, and maintain dashboards to support effective decision-making and project performance evaluation.
  • Configuration Management: Ensure that the individual projects implement and execute sound configuration management processes to ensure that all project files and records are current and accurately reflect project deliverables.
  • Training and Support: Provide training for project teams on information management tools and best practices and offer ongoing support for data-related inquiries.
  • Risk Management: Implement and drive standardization so that projects identify and assess information-related risks, develop, and subsequently implementing strategies to mitigate impacts on project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvements: Gather and prioritize lessons learned across multiple projects as it relates to Information Management. Work with the various functions to drive this improvement in GEH's global standards for future projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in the Project Information Management Field
  • At least 3 Capital Projects completed from start to finish in an Information Management Capacity.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Work 3 days onsite a week in Markham, Ontario

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Construction of large capital projects.
  • Experience in the Nuclear Industry.
  • Ability to articulate information effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to team members, senior management, and customers
  • Ability to train a global team in the field of project information management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of an overall program vision and ability to align resources, processes and outcomes to that vision.
