Job Description
As the Senior Industrial Applications Engineer, you will develop & manage the technical offerings for electrical architecture and solutions for the Industrial and Energy infrastructure projects. Covering the UK and Northern Europe P&L solutions and services, you will provide direct customer facing technical support during the bid process through to negotiation and order close out. You will also help support conference technical presentations and paper read outs.

In this role you will focus on:
- Interpreting the customer requirements with accuracy, quality and timeliness to meet customer needs & business goals.
- Analysing market trends for new solution positioning.
- Collaborating with execution teams to optimize offerings and design tools.
- Developing supplier specifications and assisting with cost reduction initiatives to help secure competitive pricing.
- Managing technical processes and securing technical design approvals through risk reviews.
- Providing technical support during bid and risk processes.
- Producing comprehensive technical design specifications.
- Supporting sales managers in customer meetings and negotiations.
- Crafting creative technical proposals that showcase value propositions, including service and after-sales.
- Presenting to both internal and external stakeholders (including senior leadership) to showcase the value of our offerings.
- Collaborating on negotiation strategies with sales and leadership teams.
- Helping to develop the early- and mid-career level technical team.
- Travelling to customer meetings domestically & overseas (occasionally, usually up to a week).
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- Degree level in electrical engineering or appropriate apprenticeship background.
- Understanding the key principles regarding variable frequency converters and rotating machines (induction motors and generators, synchronous machines).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems and control systems.
- Experience in capturing and interpreting customer requirements on a daily basis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to efficiently present on a subject.
- Familiarity with one or more engineering software, such as: AutoCAD, Power Factory, ETAP, etc.
- Fluent user of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Flexibility, adaptability and an enthusiastic approach with an ability to collaborate.
- A thorough and proactive approach to work, with a 'sense of urgency' to deliver quality 'on-time'.
