Job Description Summary
The Onshore Wind fleet management organization is seeking an experienced Controls engineer who is ready to join a fast paced and hands on team in an exciting industry. This role will include resolving technical customer issues and ensuring delivery of customer objectives such as wind turbine availability (when can a turbine run) and production (how much power does it produce). This role will have a core focus on onshore wind products controls software and hardware as well as operability and performance of a new global fleet.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Use GE wind turbine operational knowledge and data to support installed base customer issue resolution, fleet issue management, proactive continuous improvements, root cause analysis, and some product introduction and management
- Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline (Controls and Electrical turbine system design for latest turbine platforms) and help build in-team skillset through mentorship and knowledge sharing
- Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Turbine control and systems integration
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% for field troubleshooting & validation
Desired Characteristics:
- Self-directed and autonomous with ability to grasp technical concepts and a desire to learn
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with GE control systems and logic, system integration and validation, operability assessment, and control hardware subsystems
- Root cause analysis and resolution experience
- Degree with a focus on controls, electrical engineering, grid engineering, wind energy, or system dynamics
- Education experience with classical control theory (transfer functions, frequency domain design, etc) and basic knowledge in modern (state-space, optimal control, etc)
- Education experience with electrical system design, schematics, and troubleshooting
- Experience analyzing large data sets with both high-speed data collection tools and data warehouse to detect trends needed to determine root cause
- Experience with MATLAB / Simulink or similar program
The base pay range for this position is $111,200 - $185,400 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 15%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than February 23, 2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
