Job Description

As a Rotating Machine Field Service Engineer you will be required to perform all aspects of rotating machine maintenance on customer sites across the world.
Maintenance may consist of basic clean and inspection tasks through to bearing inspections, winding repairs, rotor changes or machine upgrades.

Additionally, there will be opportunity to support on-site rotating machine electrical testing. Training will be provided.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Delivering field services fulfillment for our customers in terms of EHS, Quality and Delivery.
  • Providing technical direction and supervision to a team of technicians and craft labour, when required.
  • Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing of mechanical rotating machine systems.
  • Leading and maintaining high standards of EHS in the field, working directly with the GE EHS leadership and service management teams and our customers towards achieving our goal of zero injuries.
  • Carrying out mechanical maintenance and/or electrical testing in line with the customer's requirements and as agreed by GE commercial teams.
  • Writing risk assessments, method statements and site reports using GE provided laptop and GE templates.
  • Complying with Company EHS policies and procedures

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Electrical Technicians Certificate, Mechanical Technicians Certificate or equivalent, from a reputable College Or Relevant apprenticeship
  • Experience in 2 or more of the following disciplines is required:
  • Machine Assembly
  • Mechanical fitting
  • Winding
  • Electrical Testing
  • Previous Rotating Machine Service
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft office applications (word and excel)
  • Full Clean Driving License
  • Be willing to travel in the UK and globally to customer sites, often at short notice.
  • British Nationality
  • MoD security clearance obtained or are able to obtain it.
