Roles and Responsibilities
- Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control.
- Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
- Support, develop, create Quality work instructions and supporting QMS documentation such as quality equipment procedures, tool calibration, inspections, testing, etc.
- Provide area leadership for all quality topics, including timely dispositions of non-conformances, QMS (Quality Management System) compliance including internal audits, and achieving cell goals for quality metrics.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications against physical parts to investigate non-conformances and effectively document / communicate findings.
- Analyze internal and external quality data to identify high impact and recurring defect modes to drive meaningful corrective actions.
- Determine root cause of non-conformances and implement corrective actions both internally and externally.
- Coordinate with the global Supplier Quality Organization to improve the quality of raw materials, qualify new vendors, and assist in process changes and/or new product development.
- Maintain familiarity with manufacturing processes and practices in order to continuously improve manufacturing quality.
- Support goals for continuous improvement through Six Sigma and Lean methodology, and by coaching Kaizen project ideas generated by technicians.
- Prepare and present quality data to plant leadership, including progress towards quality targets, current challenges, and corrective actions.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team.
- For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
- Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
- Experience in Quality (manufacturing).
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical issues and implement solutions that account for ergonomic, quality and cost considerations.
- Experience with heavy industrial assembly processes involving overhead cranes.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified or equivalent Quality certification.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical design ability.
- Ability to manage priorities and achieve results.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
