For Grid Solutions, Offshore HVDC represents a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business, particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets. In that context and for Germany, Grid Solutions is partnering with TenneT, which plans to invest more than $30B by 2030 in deploying new HVDC converter stations to bring Offshore Wind energy into Germany and the Netherlands.
In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a Project Manager who will oversee the packages related to Building Services for the Onshore Convertor Station part of a portfolio of several mega HVDC projects in Germany (contracts value > $1B).
Major Responsibilities in details:
Project Planning and Initiation:
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Define project requirements and ensure all resources are allocated effectively.
• Conduct risk assessments and establish mitigation strategies.
Execution and Monitoring:
• Oversee day-to-day operations of building service projects.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor project progress and performance against key metrics and milestones.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any issues or concerns.
• Facilitate project meetings and prepare progress reports.
Budget and Resource Management:
• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and accurate forecasting.
• Approve expenditures and monitor financial performance.
• Optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all project work complies with industry standards and client specifications.
• Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular site inspections.
• Address any quality issues promptly to maintain project integrity.
Project Closure:
• Conduct final inspections and ensure successful handover.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation and final reports.
• Review project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Other packages- SPM Deputy :
Depending on the need, you provide project management support on related packages for the Onshore Convertor Station as well as on site support during the site establishment, construction, installation and commissioning phases.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Preferably a technical degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in the T&D, Power, or Renewable Energy industry
- Language: English (mandatory); German (not mandatory)
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-oriented and able to meet sales targets.
- Adaptability to fast-paced and changing environments.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and expense control.
Desired Characteristics:
- Ability and interest to deep-dive into issues; mastery of MS Office tools (e.g., Excel) to support these analytics is required;
- Excellent coordination and cooperation skills; a team player who is willing and able to work with others to solve problems and share knowledge;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. German will be an add on;
