Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the project technical leader/director to develop scope of work, plan schedule, budgets and monitor engineering activities and deliverables for customer projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and interface with Tendering, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, EHS, Quality, Project Management Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
  • This position is accountable to design all activities in compliance with all applicable codes and standards, including all GE Grid Solutions policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment such as FACTS, GIS, Transformers, P&C, Telecom and SCADA and HV Electrical system engineering including HVDC applications
  • In collaboration with Engineering teams oversee design of HVDC Substation including HVDC and HVA One line diagrams, Plans and elevation drawings for outdoor sation equipment, civil works, foundations and buildings, All studies (grounding, load flow, short circuit etc), Protection and Control, Control room, Auxiliary AC and DC designs
  • Proposing and implementing an efficient reporting process to measure progress of engineering activities, on-time delivery of documents and answers to Customer comments
  • Manage technical risk. Propose and implement design strategy, design, GATE, safety reviews Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area and specialized knowledge in their discipline.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses critical judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of technology or engineering.
  • Takes an unique perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and LEAN/Root cause expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with lesser experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders; works to build consensus.
  • Developing persuasion skills required to influence project team, customer and stakeholders.
  • Identifying, alerting, and proposing corrective action plans to Project Director in case of any major deviation of scope

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited University
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in the Energy/Oil & Gas
  • Minimum of 5 years of Leadership experience
  • Able and willing to travel 25% including international and comply with GE travel guidelines.

The salary range for this position is 166,000.00 - 221,300.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 166,000.00 - 221,300.00 - 276,700.00 USD Annual
