We are seeking a Principal Engineer with expertise in Control Systems, Signal Processing and Algorithm Development to spearhead the design and implementation of innovative solutions for GE Vernova's next-generation products. This role will focus on advancing technologies that facilitate the energy transition.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to define and develop advanced products for GE Vernova, with emphasis on bringing about key product and process differentiation using control systems and signal processing.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development of advanced control algorithms, signal processing techniques, and modelling methodologies.
  • Drive excellence in technical practices to address design challenges across multiple GE Vernova business units.
  • Shape and expand the internal and program pipeline in partnership with various GE Vernova teams.
  • Establish partnerships with academic institutions and small businesses to enhance technological capabilities in general areas of algorithm development, including controls, signal processing, AIML, etc.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance in shaping programs, project management, and execution to foster talent development within the team.
  • Formulate strategies to secure buy-in for proposals related to future energy business needs in onshore and offshore wind, gas power,
  • Lead and guide multidisciplinary teams in the implementation of the key strategic initiatives and proof of concepts.
  • Communicate technology strategies effectively to senior executives, including senior VP and CEO levels, as well as academic institutions.
  • Identify, assess, and manage program risks to achieve desired business outcomes while promoting a system-level approach.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience leading teams or managing large-scale programs focused on control systems and signal processing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced control algorithms, signal processing techniques, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge across multiple technical domains with the ability to strategize at a system level within GE Vernova's diverse business landscape.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed team environment while leveraging cross-business networks for successful outcomes.
  • A strong record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or patents related to control systems, signal processing, or algorithm development.
  • Willingness to work from the office located in Bengaluru, India.

  • Strong technical acumen combined with an understanding of a wide range of technology domains; adept at influencing, facilitating, and negotiating solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability to take innovative ideas from research through to product realization.
