Role Overview:

As the Platform Leader for Power Systems, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving the development and execution of our power systems platform roadmap. You'll leverage your deep understanding of power electronics, control systems, and grid integration to deliver solutions that are both groundbreaking and reliable. You'll inspire and mentor a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Product Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between product management and engineering, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product requirements.
  • Operational and Technical Guidance: Provide operational and tactical guidance to the engineering team, supporting them in product design to meet Product Requirements Document (PRD) specifications.
  • Problem-Solving Leadership: Lead and drive Problem Solving Reports (PSRs) for engineering challenges encountered during design activities, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Design Best Practices: Guide the team in adopting best design practices, promoting efficiency and quality.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Identify potential intellectual property (IP) and patents, safeguarding the company's innovation.
  • Strategic Engagement: Ensure principal engineers and the Chief Title Holder Engineers are fully engaged with the design team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Spearhead Innovation: Translate product requirements into cutting-edge technical solutions, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in power conversion technology.
  • Lead with Vision: Guide technical planning and implementation, ensuring seamless integration of subsystems, rigorous testing, and effective risk/cost management.
  • Build High-Performing Teams: Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines and with external partners, resolving challenges and driving consensus.
  • Champion Quality: Oversee first article testing, troubleshoot issues, and share lessons learned to continuously improve our products and processes.
  • Drive Excellence: Ensure adherence to development processes and quality standards, championing a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Shape the Future: Lead the creation and maintenance of state-of-the-art product documentation that showcases our technical leadership.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Master's degree or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in relevant technical/product roles, with at least 3 years focused on inverter-based systems. Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment that utilizes design thinking, lean start-up, and agile delivery approaches is highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep knowledge of power semiconductor devices, converter topologies, power electronics principles, and control systems for grid-connected inverters.
    • Comprehensive understanding of utility-scale solar and BESS applications, including grid integration requirements, use cases, and relevant standards and codes (e.g., IEEE 1547, UL 1741).
    • Understanding of EMC/EMI principles and mitigation techniques for power electronics systems.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate at all levels, and work across a global organization.

The salary range for this position is 98,400.00 - 131,200.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual . The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
