Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Gas Power, Vietnam are looking to hire a Plant Leader.

This is a key role within the Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) Repair Value Stream business segment. In this capacity you will be responsible for building a world-class, globally competitive manufacturing operation that produces outstanding results in safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and cash.

In addition to driving operational excellence, the Plant Leader will be responsible for leading a lean transformation culture that improves outcomes for its customers through reduced cycle and lead times. In order to meet the plant's short and long term operational goals, you would not only utilise advance manufacturing techniques, lean principles, but also partner with global cross functional teams to influence internal and external stakeholders.

The plant's main function is the production of heat recovery steam generators (HRSG). It has a diverse workforce of both technical and professional employees. As a leader you are able to engage, motivate, coach and develop employees, promoting an inclusive work environment

The role is based in Dung Quat and reports to the head of Manufacturing.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Build an inclusive employee environment that provides equal opportunities for all to contribute to the success of business.
  • Lead the establishment and attainment of plant goals in SAFETY, QUALITY, SCHEDULE ATTAINMENT, COMPLIANCE & COST, in that order
  • Ensure world class safety manufacturing standards
  • Provide development of staff leaders to guide production and support organizations
  • Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production requirements
  • Establish and maintain the plant vision for success
  • Facilitate the leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem solving
  • Develop and track expense and investment budgets with the input of each organization
  • Establish and adjust an organizational structure that best supports the plant goals and measurements
  • Engage all employees, driving for continuous improvement, six sigma levels of quality, and maintaining ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification
  • Maintain constructive labor relations with unions and works councils, engaging with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Hire, coach and develop professional employees

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain or related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Supply Chain leadership
  • As a representative of the Dung Quat Factory, the ideal candidate would be conversant in both the local language and English.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA
  • Experience in delivering outstanding results in safety, quality and compliance
  • Demonstrated record of success of using Lean to increase supply chain velocity
  • Strong knowledge in the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, quality systems, cost systems and fulfillment metrics
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and influence across a global matrix organization
  • Demonstrated record of success in leading manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities
  • Strong organization and planning skills and have demonstrated expertise in providing strategic direction and further developing bench strength
  • Coaching, development and organizational leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee and labor relations
  • Fluent in Vietnamese will be added advantage (written and verbal)
