What impact you'll make
The Senior Project & Engineered Solution Risk Manager (PES Risk Manager) will own the Risk assessment and management during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) activities for the Gas Power Global Services Complex and Extended Scope opportunities, starting from the project categorization of the upgrade proposals, working with cross-functions to identify, assess, mitigate and quantify the execution risk and their relevant risk provisions into the Risk Register in Real track. You shall as well drive consistency and common global processes for Risk Management in the Complex & Extended Scope projects space for the large and diverse installed fleet of Gas Power units during both ITO and Order to Remittance (OTR) phase, supporting the Project Managers during the OTR phase.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define the Project categorization of the upgrade opportunities prior the R1 call in case of doubt by deal team.
  • Effectively manage and facilitate cross-functional GEV team (Commercial, Sales, Engineering, One Field Services, sourcing, Project Scheduler, PMO, etc.) to ensure the timely overall risk assessment of any of the Complex or Extended Scope opportunity, considering the execution risks as part of the Inquiry To Order (ITO) process and formalizing the identified risks and mitigation plan into the Risk Register prior the bid submission and update the risk profile as necessary up to the Contract signature. Provide the Risk provisions to be included into the Finsum to the Commercial Manager.
  • Mentor and train Project Managers and the PES team grow in both the Risks and Improvement identification, mitigation, quantification and business acumen.
  • This position requires good interpersonal skills and good understanding of how to work with the larger deal team and how to integrate with other teams in a matrixed organization to contribute to the needs of the business.
  • Demonstrate autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and lead other Individual Contributors.
  • Resolve issues in situations that require good risk knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Demonstrate crisp communication skills to management during Service Project Review Board (PRB) meeting highlighted key project risks and their mitigations.
  • Apply LEAN concepts to the standard work that needs to be performed in this function, constantly seeking and implement opportunities to cut waste and improve efficiency. This may require leading or participating in Kaizen's or other initiatives.
  • Support primarily the North America market while being part of the global PES Risk team so may be assigned to another region as well.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Risk Management & Project Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Master's degree in Business, Engineering or ither technical or business related field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Risk or Contract Management, Project Management or Commercial Operation.
  • 5+ years experience in Project Management or Risk Management or Commercial Management experience in complex services projects for Power Generation or particularly complex or extended scope projects

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong acumen for Risk Management, Complex Project, customer Management & Negotiating skills
  • Ability to lead/navigate and influence the relevant stakeholders in a complex, matrix organization
  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including EB+), functions and Poles delivering clear messages to influence teams to achieve the expected results
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute Complex projects.
  • Experience and demonstrated success working in a global cross-functional environment.
  • Understanding of how the project risk can impact the GE financial outcome
  • Risk Management Certificate by PMI or PMP certification
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 132,200.00 - 176,300.00 - 220,400.00.The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% annual performance incentive.
