Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Leader to oversee the functions of our Government Operations team at the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping in managing the day-to-day operations of government contracting, sourcing, and rates, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving process improvements to support the growth and success of the research center.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Work with Government contracting team to:

  • Oversee the management of government contracts, including contract administration, compliance, and closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement contract management strategies.

Work with Sourcing team to:

  • Lead the sourcing team in developing and implementing sourcing strategies to support the research center's operations.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and develop procurement plans.

Overall Operational Leadership:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals in government contracting, sourcing, finance, and government rates.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to government contracting, sourcing, finance, and government rates.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with government contracting, sourcing, finance, and government rates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in government contracting, sourcing, finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing government contracts, sourcing, finance, and government rates.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations, including the FAR and DFARS.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Due to Federal Contract Provisions, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certified Contract Manager (CCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification.
  • Experience working in a research and development environment.
  • Experience with government contracting, sourcing, finance, and government rates software, including contract management systems, procurement platforms, and financial management systems.

The salary range for this position is $160,200 - $230,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least April 25, 2025.
