Job Description Summary

The Sourcing Operations Leader for GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) is responsible for driving operational excellence across the sourcing organization. In this individual contributor role, you will lead development and execution of supply chain initiatives to improve performance across nuclear fuel, services and advanced nuclear projects. Initial scope will focus heavily on Small Modular Reactor project execution. The Operations Leader will work cross-functionally in close partnership with GEH business teams to execute on key sourcing business deliverables.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as sourcing liaison in cross-functional project reviews and collaborate with functional leaders to execute strategies that support customer needs.
  • Collaborate with project leadership team to prioritize actions and facilitate seamless connection with key stakeholders within sourcing organization, with initial heavy focus on BWRX-300 deliverables.
  • Lead supply chain risk assessment process and develop business case around actions to increase supply chain resilience.
  • Develop standard work to improve consistency of sourcing contract process and structure, including delegation of authority, fall back manual, and terms simplification.
  • Build and sustain process and tools to track and execute project deliverables including support of new customer opportunities.
  • Interface with the business leadership on issues of forecasting, planning, execution, strategy alignment.
  • Interface with customers and regulators as required; ensure sourcing efforts fulfill key customer requirements
  • Support Lean culture by working cross functionally to improve procurement process and lead sourcing kaizen promotion office
  • Develop processes and standard work to reduce waste and reduce lead time of critical activities to improve on time performance
  • Daily Management through established meeting rhythms with external stakeholders and support teams to facilitate problem solving, enhancements and migrations.
  • Partner with Lean Leader and cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement through problem solving, kaizen and standard work.
  • Gather lessons learned and best practices to build common toolkit for commodity management and fulfillment.
  • Perform factory visits to suppliers of critical components and build capacity planning model with current lead times.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a technical or business curriculum
  • 10 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, engineering, lean or equivalent discipline
  • 5 years of experience in sourcing, contract negotiations or supply chain development

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided) if not already local
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or Master's degree in business, supply chain, engineering or other relevant degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Sourcing and supply chain management experience in a high technology and/or highly regulated industry
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills
  • Strong leader capable of working successfully in a matrix organization and as part of a cross-functional team to drive impactful results
  • Interest in future business leadership opportunities. Prior managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex situations and drive projects to completion, including cost and schedule control
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Oracle Enterprise Resources Planning System (ERP) systems
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or equivalent
  • Experience working with customers, regulators, and suppliers in the nuclear business
  • Experience with data analysis and analytics tools, including Tableau and Smartsheet
  • GE Program graduate, e.g., EEDP, OMLP (GE employees only)

The base pay range for this position is $125,000-175,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 4/18/2025.
