The Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supplier quality activities for GEH New Reactor projects.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform supplier execution activities for New Reactor projects focusing on supplier qualification and quality control of the procurement activities.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
  • Execute supplier quality surveillance program for New Reactor activities.
  • Disposition of supplier non-conforming products
  • Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures
  • Analyze test data to identify defects and trends, and initiate corrective actions
  • Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
  • Establish quality metrics and monitor performance against established standards
  • Maintain detailed documentation of quality records, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites (international & domestic) as required. (Up to 40%)
  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1 and ISO-9001.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear customers, industry programs and competitive environments.
  • Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Experience with Electrical/Electronics Industry Standards (IEEE, IEC, IPC, NEMA, ANSI).
  • Experience with analog and digital control systems including microprocessor, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation and controls.
  • Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • A good understanding of the safety lifecycle for Instrument & Controls safety systems.
  • Experience with high integrity software-based protection and/or safety control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and system integration, SCADA configuration and software testing techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiatives, good teamworking skills, and desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous or Current Quality Lead Auditor certification.
  • 4 year's experience working in a Nuclear Quality Role.

The base pay range for this position is $112K - $160K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 1/24/2025.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
