Job Description

You will work with business stakeholders across the GE Vernova portfolio to create and drive the renewables technology roadmap that guides GE Vernova Advanced Research towards forward looking technologies. You will shape and foster strategic collaborations with government partners, national laboratories, universities, and strategic partners to drive innovative solutions for GE Vernova.

You will define the future of Renewables by:

  • Driving early-stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
  • Building and cultivating a broad network of stakeholders, partners, and subject matter experts across government agencies, national labs, strategic partners, and academic institutions.
  • Shaping funding agency priorities and synthesizing insights into actions that improve proposal quality, win rate, and GE Vernova MGTP/MGPP impact.
  • Communicating these cross-organizational and cross-business technology strategies to Senior VP and CEO level executives across GE as well as to C-suite level stakeholders at external businesses, government agencies, and universities.
  • Create and support culture of technical excellence, teamwork, and respect/trust.
  • Leverage internal and external network to create innovative new breakthroughs and opportunities that drive strategic growth.
  • Engage in leadership of GE Vernova Advanced Research, partnering with staff to maximize vitality, formulate strategies, and execute on strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD Degree in electrical engineering, or related field with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 years of relevant experience
  • A minimum 10 years of experience leading teams or large projects.
  • Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in the areas of electrical systems, electronics, and energy related technologies.
  • Experience leading large government research programs and writing successful R&D proposals
  • Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary research teams, and reporting out to Senior VP and CEO leadership levels.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Provisions.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Demonstrated ability to take an innovative idea from research to a product.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
