Job Description Summary

GE Vernova's Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies. We are looking for a Materials Manager to ensure the efficient management of materials, inventory, and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing material planning, shipping and receiving, inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse, customs and inventory control ensuring that materials are available to meet production demands while minimizing costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels across multiple co-located business units.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement materials management strategies to ensure timely availability of materials for production and minimize disruptions.
  • Manage materials for multiple products/co-located business units, with varying needs and complexities
  • Collaborate with Sourcing & Procurement, Planning/Scheduling, and Project Management functions to meet material delivery requirements of the businesses.
  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze trends and adjust stock levels to meet production requirements, while avoiding excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure that materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track material usage, manage stock levels, and reduce inventory holding costs.
  • Analyze material requirements and forecasts to plan activities effectively.
  • Lead and mentor a team of materials professionals, providing guidance and support to shipping and receiving, Inbound and outbound Logistics, Warehouse, Customs teams to achieve departmental goals.
  • Manage and resolve any issues related to material shortages, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all materials management activities.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management, such as inventory turnover, order accuracy, on time delivery, Order fulfillment lead time, Compliance Rate and supplier performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
