Job Description Summary

As a member of Site Management Team, Material Handling Manager for FGD Sikka site will be responsible for warehouse management i.e. laydown area development, Control and management of all materials from arrival at site to handover including erection / commissioning and reconciliation. MHM implementation of GE standard practice / Guideline for warehouse management. Should ensure implementation of the GE EHS policy within the operational scope of material handling management, including all established safety procedures, work instructions, guidelines and local laws/regulations and informing employees about hazardous materials and applicable precautions.
This is Fixed Term Contract role for 2 Years based out at site.

Job Description

Your Role:

  • Lead a team for materials management on site including partner and erection sub-contractors.
  • Coordination of all participants' materials, align all procedure for material management specially for storage, transportation, material hand-over, follow-up of missing / damage parts
  • Establish systems and implement procedure for receipt of materials at site, storage and release of material to erection sub-contractors. Based on GE Standard procedure and local requirement.
  • Management of lay down area including preparation + covered storage including material management budget
  • Management of material security control on lay down
  • Establish and implement storage control procedures.
  • Establish material delivery schedule and interface.
  • Establish stock control procedures and procedures to address material shortages.
  • Establish and implement preservation procedures.
  • Inspect incoming goods and immediate reporting of all/any shortages or damage
  • Establish material request and hand-over procedure with erection team / sub-contractor / partner
  • Establish procedures for storage and handover of spare part
  • Maintain and manage of the on-site materials in cooperation with the project expediting office, check and review open point (NCR) on material before expediting acceptance. Liaise with construction team and QA department to ensure proper traceability.
  • Register and record the materials on site through MTA software
  • Check, accept, stock and forward all arriving material to field in cooperation with the concerned Construction Manager and in accordance with the handling instructions.
  • Address damage that occurs during shipment according to the procedure. This involves assessment, recording and reporting of the damage.
  • Check that all documents accompanying material deliveries are complete and correct as detailed in the specifications and purchase orders.
  • Check existence of material certificate, transfer to QA department
  • Check existence of packing list, record and classified them
  • Inspect incoming goods and immediate reporting of all/any shortages or damage.
  • Perform or organise Positive Material Identification in case of doubt on material certificate, material identification, especially on piping
  • Obtain, or initiate the obtaining, of missing documents.
  • Perceive deviations from the material delivery schedule as soon as possible (and report such to senior management immediately).
  • Ensure all material is handled according to the applicable QA instructions from the moment it arrives on site until it is handed over to erection /commissioning or other parties.
  • Be able to prove at all times which materials have been received at which time and when they were forwarded to others. The subsequent recipient confirms this hand over.
  • Daily logs will be maintained which record all events to address any subsequent claims or disputes.
  • Establish and execute packing rubbish removal plan.
  • Prepare and RFQ for material management, lifting device, operator... Make offer analysis and assist OCM for contract placement.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor/Diploma Degree appropriate to the technical activity involved.
  • 5-7 Years of Experience of warehouse management in Power Project .
  • Good proficiency in English

Desired Qualification:

  • Appropriate experience in power plant construction and engineering
  • Orderly handling and presentation of information
