Job Description
As the Marine Application Engineer you will produce and manage Dynamic Positioning (DP) and Vessel Automation Systems technical offerings for marine commercial vessels globally. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce technical proposals which provide best solution and best value offerings to our customers. By aiding the sales teams, you will play a key role in shaping the account strategy and the company's competitive edge in the global market.

In this role you will focus on:
- Interpreting the customer requirements with accuracy, quality and timeliness to meet customer needs & business goals.
- Producing technical design specifications including system design and electrical power propulsion or control design diagrams.
- Participating in the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) and Order-to-Remittance (OTR) handover process by providing technical support to the order booking process.
- Supporting the Sales Managers in their customer meetings & negotiations, advising both internally and externally.
- Providing technical and cost estimating support during the bid process through to order handover.
- On occasion travelling overseas to exhibitions and other meetings to support the global business, usually up to a week.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- Entry level qualifications (e.g. HNC, HND, or relevant experience) in marine, electrical or automation & control engineering for the purpose of producing technical sales tenders.
- Experience in capturing and interpreting customer requirements.
- Flexibility, adaptability and an enthusiastic approach, ability to collaborate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to effectively present on a subject.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- A valid passport (or ability to obtain one) to meet travel requirements.
- Ability to work on multiple bids for multiple customers at any one time.
What will make you stand out:
- Previous experience in Application Engineering, Proposals Management or Sales Tendering.
- A relevant degree In Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar field, or equivalent qualifications.
- A background in Marine Engineering, Dynamic Positioning Systems or Automation & Control engineering.
- Enthusiasm and appreciation for Marine Engineering with a will to develop in this area.
