This is a hands-on, factory-based role suited for candidates with a strong electrical/electronic engineering background and experience working with automated test equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Hands-On Support: Provide direct support to manufacturing test processes for HVDC products, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
✔️ Test Equipment & Process Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate test equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
✔️ Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Act as the first responder for test equipment breakdowns, diagnosing issues and ensuring rapid resolution.
✔️ New Equipment Integration: Implement new test systems and automation solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
✔️ Collaboration & Support: Work cross-functionally with production operators, engineers, and suppliers to resolve test-related challenges.
✔️ Training & Documentation: Provide technical training to production teams and maintain up-to-date work instructions, risk assessments, and compliance documents.
✔️ Operator Training: Provide training and support to production operators for effective equipment usage.
✔️ Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to test processes to improve quality, reliability, and throughput.
✔️ Technical Authority Person (TAP): Serve as the competent person for production, ensuring compliance and safe working practices.
Skills and Experience:
🔹 Electrical Focus: Substantial understanding of electrical testing in a manufacturing environment (rather than pure electronics).
🔹 Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a hands-on test support role within a production setting.
🔹 Education & Experience: HNC/HND or a Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with proven experience in a manufacturing test environment.
🔹 Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of test systems, diagnostics, and fault-finding in an electronics manufacturing setting.
🔹 Problem-Solving Ability: Experience with root cause analysis and process improvements to prevent recurring issues.
🔹 Automation & IT Skills: Understanding of IT requirements for test system integration. Familiarity with Ni TestStand, LabVIEW, and IT system integration is a plus.
🔹 HVDC Product Testing: Familiarity with HVDC product testing processes is advantageous.
🔹 EHS & Quality Standards: Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and safety compliance in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety compliance standards.
🔹 Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
