Summary
The Manufacturing NPI Engineer will be responsible for processing NPI Product / Projects through structured gated system and will engage internal and external resources to ensure product / projects are delivered on time with considering safety, quality, and cost in manufacturing Phase.
Manufacturing NPI Engineer will act as a bridge between Engineering product/program team and Manufacturing to ensure the entire manufacturing readiness in terms of product and manufacturing process.

Job Description

The role is to work on the new product FLEXINVERTER, FLEXRESERVOIR, RESTORE DC BLOCK, EMS and existing ongoing projects with short deadlines for the project / Product execution. Also, collect all risk and its mitigation plan and work holistically with all cross functional teams for the flawless Manufacturing serial production and deliveries.

  • Plan, coordinate, implement and finalize projects according to specifications and deadlines, and maintaining the project performance indices i.e., Quality, Cost & Delivery.
  • Jointly work with Product engineering team from the product concept design to final design (Proto & pilot stage)
  • Technical decisions/guidance and flow down of projects requirements to Suppliers. These include tool and fixture manufacturing designs, machining requirements, drawings, CAD models, Contract/Condition of Supply requirements.
  • Support of production line tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Carry out process validation for new/existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements. Use of FMEA activities (PFMEA, DFMEA).
  • Preparation of Control documents/work instructions and provide technical support to production departments when necessary.
  • CN Management to follow up with Engineering and sourcing team.
  • Initiate the Improvement activities to address the electrical and mechanical related issues.
  • Cycle time reduction through Lean manufacturing
  • Proto build lesson learnt improvements and implementation for serial production.
  • Address the pain points in manufacturing line (Assembly and testing) - Continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing Process simplification and development
  • New product introduction and development
  • Quality development with join of SQE and IQ.
  • Manufacturing Bill of Material-BOM development
  • Mfg. readiness documents preparation- MOC, PFD, HIRA, SOP, Work instruction, Lifting plan, Process Risk assessment.
  • Ensuring Zero-line stoppage during first project execution in serial production
  • DFM & DFA review and feasibility checks
  • Sustainability programs for product reliability.
  • Electrical schematics validation during proto stage.
  • Drive Mfg. NPI and proto build program with CFT.
  • Ensure on time deliverables as per the new product, DMP and Alternate parts implementations program plan.
  • Responsible for site integration documents for new product and sustainability (Assembly and testing procedure).

Required attributes.

  • Holds a degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline preferably Manufacturing, Mechanical and electrical will be considered.
  • At least 4+ years' experience in Engineering and/or Manufacturing role is preferred.
  • Ability to manage project and chair project review meetings.
  • Ability to lead new product introduction, build and leading other internal teams.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software's, PLM and Windchill.
  • Expert on internal program planning and forecasting.
  • Experience on Handling equipment's, Tools and Fixtures, Measurement tools.
  • Experience on design customized tools and fixtures as per requirements (New product)
  • Excellent communication skills - Read, write and verbal. Fluency in Read, written and spoken English.

Desired attributes

  • Previous experience on solar inverters and BESS Industry is added advantage.
  • Use of PFMEA/DFMEA/Control plan tools & risk management techniques.
  • Experience using statistical techniques (SPC's, Gauge R & R). Awareness of measurement and calibration standards.
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Office suite and Project.
  • Awareness / exposure to direct communication with internal customers.
  • Self-Starter and good facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with customers and suppliers.
