Job Description Summary
The Logistics Specialist will ensure that for a given tender/project all internal units and external suppliers involved in the tender/project will be effectively managed in order to provide the best execution in terms of cost, quality and delivery. The role of a Logistics Specialist consists of direct management of logistics service providers serving the projects including large and complex project execution. This position works closely with following stakeholders: Project Managers, Procurement and Logistics Managers, Project Sourcing, Quality, Tendering, Engineering, Finance, Project Control Internal/External Vendors, Site Management and Construction.

Essential functions/ responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop transport plans, handling plans and risk analysis including EHS in order to optimize transportation cycles and costs
- Prepare/issue quotes as well as complete bid comparisons per schedule for tender and execution for road, rail, sea and air transport.
- Works closely with project planning to establish proper transportation schedules for delivery of materials/documentation for tenders/projects
- Supports the competitiveness of the sourcing scope at tender stage to win orders.
- Ensures that transportation of products from external and internal suppliers is fully coordinated for a given project and maximize consolidation
- Drives all logistics actions during the project execution phase to maximize deflation while ensuring on time completion of the project
- Expedites Logistics suppliers to ensure on time delivery of materials and technical/shipping documentation
- Coordinates all imports/exports with GE's regional customs team
- Works with internal / external suppliers to prioritize work over multiple projects
- Ensures the project commitment for products managed by HVDC CoE are met: On Time Delivery, Quality and Cost.
- Own Logistics processes for all Large and Complex projects globally. Maintain and deploy such processes.
- Supports the logistics providers claim processing working closely with contract management
- Liaise with Global Process and Tools Leader to deploy process and tools in the COE as well as KPIs reporting
Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree in Logistics or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience in Project Logistics Management
- Managed and led complex projects and have extensive knowledge of supply chains
- Knowledge of ultra-heavy/dimensional transportation
- Knowledgeable of custom procedures
- Knowledgeable of the transport of Dangerous Goods (bi-annual training/certification required)
