Job Description Summary

Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition.

Reporting to the Head of HVDC PDG, the Lean Leader will be responsible for promoting and leading Lean initiatives across HVDC PDG.

The role will support all PDG functions with identifying, defining and driving Lean initiatives within their functions to achieve the objective of streamlining project delivery to meet the growing HVDC project portfolio, while adhering to SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) principle.

The Lean Leader will be responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the HVDC PDG's products, projects, operations and processes.

They will coach, train and assess others as needed. Work with the organizational leadership, develop, set the pace and support business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organisational structure, culture, people and processes. Outline direction and deployment of the Company's Lean framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the HVDC PDG in line with latest standards and best practices.

This is a Hybrid role with expectation to be working in Stafford 3 days per week.

Job Description

Role

  • Lean, Kaizen & 5S Champion / Promoter.
  • Lean philosophy support / training.
  • Identify, capture and monitor Lean initiatives.
  • Provide support in the execution of Lean initiatives.
  • Lean progress reporting dashboard (KPIs).
  • Kaizen philosophy support / training.
  • Identify, capture and monitor Kaizen Events.
  • Kaizen event facilitation / support / training.
  • Kaizen event progress reporting dashboard (KPIs).
  • Kaizen event actions governance.
  • 5S support, mentoring & training.
  • 5S governance.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategy and Development

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational and transactional performance.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Lean activities.

General and Task Management

  • Develop a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders.
  • Implement and support cultural change across the organization and drive business improvement in a Toyota Lean style.
  • Provide project management, analytical and research skills and expertise.
  • Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business in business improvement, drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies.
  • Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success.
  • Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice.
  • Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, such as the planning and running of lean events.
  • Attend various meetings and take care / follow up on actions.
  • Produce written reports and make presentations.
  • Undertake continuous training and development.
  • Contribute and support the operational rhythm.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited university or college.
  • Extensive and demonstrated years of experience

  • Lean: 5S, SW, VSM, SMED, Single Piece Flow, Strategy Deployment, Kanban, Heijunka, daily management @ genba, SQDIP/SQDC, VOC, Action Planning.
  • Problem Solving skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Kaizen facilitation.
