Job Description Summary

The Leader, Schenectady Cores and Castings, will provide leadership to all organizations and employees in Schenectady Cores and Castings, a high technology manufacturing development and production team focused on core and casting manufacturing for Gas Turbines. You will drive operational excellence, making extensive use of lean and advanced manufacturing techniques to achieve world-class results in safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Your principal responsibilities will be:

  • Execute the strategy for the organization, working collaboratively with leaders in the Global Supply Chain and Engineering
  • Provide development of staff leaders to guide production and support organizations
  • Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production requirements
  • Lead the establishment and attainment of plant goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Integrate engineering and manufacturing for the resolution of technical issues and development of new products
  • Work with global cross-functional teams to establish the appropriate conditions to effectively meet long-range and near-term production goals
  • Establish and maintain a vision for success
  • Facilitate the leadership team in strategic decision-making, problem solving and daily management
  • Develop and track expense and investment budgets with the input of each organization
  • Maintain an organizational structure that best supports priorities
  • Engage all employees in driving for continuous improvement through Lean
  • Maintain constructive labor relations with unions, engaging with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Hire, coach, and develop professional employees

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4 years minimum of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Technical depth and experience in producing cores and castings for the gas turbine or aviation industries
  • Experience in delivering outstanding results in safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Demonstrated record of success of using Lean to increase performance
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and influence across the organization
  • Demonstrated record of success in leading manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities
  • Strong organization and planning skills and have demonstrated expertise in providing strategic direction
  • Coaching, development and organizational leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee and labor relations

The base pay range for this position is $138,000.00 -$184,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
