Job Description Summary

To deliver GEV's EnergyAPM - data analytics software that provides Asset Performance Management portfolio of applications and services, for Transmission & Distribution for multiple projects - GEV Grid Solutions is looking for a Software Project Engineer (SE).

Software Project Engineer (SE) works with different teams to deliver strategic Asset Management Software projects. He/she will oversee the technical projects deliveries and will be the interface between the GE operation central team (located in Paris / Dubai) and GE customers.

Software Project Engineer (SE) should have the technical software skills to be involved in the software services delivery in the time, quality and the budget required for our digital projects.

The main scope packages of the typical delivery of the Software Project Engineer are:

  • The SE will be in charge of all the APM project software deliveries of GEV
  • Perform Software installation, implementation and configuration of all our Small to Enterprise setups
  • Participate in integration work including data migration, data mapping and ETL building
  • Mount required software infrastructure in cloud or in datacenters
  • Participate in project design and documentation preparation
  • Participate in Acceptance Tests and customer training
  • Ensure on-time delivery, ensure high-quality implementation and of all design notes / statement of work prepared by the Software team of the project
  • Prepare and review of the software Cloud & Hardware architecture
  • Oversee the modeling of assets and grid substations work and the developed software interfaces

The SE is the technical owner of the technical implementation of the APM projects by respecting scheduled time with the required quality, and will be responsible & accountable of the technical project implementation.

The SE will be supported by software Delivery Managers and other subject matter experts (SMEs) globally and in the regions while executing the project.

The SE will be required to support tendering and demonstration of APM to the customer when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master's Degree in software engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • 7 to 10 years experiences in Software delivery management and/or a Software Engineer in Software or asset management projects
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing skills)

Desired Characteristics

  • 7 to 10 years experiences in project delivery with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Utilities, Industrials or similar
  • +3 years experiences in maintenance process with utilities, industry, or OEM company
  • Proven experience with international experience of project fronting multiple customers.
  • Knowledge of software solutions and technologies:
    • Concepts of Asset Management and / or Asset Performance Management (APM) is a plus
    • Concepts of ERP, SAP, Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is a plus
    • Excellent Knowledge of Linux/Kubernetes setups
    • Good Knowledge of Cloud concepts and high-level data-center concepts
    • Excellent Knowledge of Software Deployment, configuration, integration and database interfaces (SQL and/or other), Webservices, ETL, timeseries databases
    • Good Knowledge of data exchange formats: JSON, XML, CSV...
    • Knowledge of IoT protocols and webservices: OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Kafka, REST API...
    • Concepts of the electrical communication protocols: IEC-101, IEC-104, DNP3, IEC61850, Modbus
    • Concepts with Operation Technology (OT) is a plus, such as SCADA/EMS systems
    • Concepts of Geographic Information System (GIS) is a plus
    • Knowledge of the primary assets of the grid (GIS, Transformer, Bays, Circuit Breakers) is a plus
  • Able to work in multi-cultural/ Multi location teams.

  • Able to work under matrixial organization.

  • Well organized and autonomous
  • Able to travel when it is required to Europe & Middle East and other regions is required.
