Job Description Summary

The Lead Field Services Engineer, PWR will provide oversight, technical leadership, and front-line supervision for the successful execution of complex projects and activities involving PWR and BWR reactor maintenance and inspection. They will have technical expertise and experience in PWR and BWR reactor disassembly, reassembly, refueling and all forms of in-vessel servicing for PWRs and BWRs. This position is eligible as a remote position working from home when not traveling.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

As the Lead Field Engineer, PWR you will:

  • Be responsible for delivery of field projects including task leadership, technical direction, work coordination and supervision of work teams composed of GE and contingent worker personnel including craft labor at Customer sites.
  • Provide leadership, work coordination and supervision of work teams composed of GE and contingent worker personnel including craft labor.
  • Establish appropriate relationships and interact effectively with customers and suppliers on commercial, technical & compliance issues and work within an integrated services team.
  • Support business activities including proposal preparation, cost estimating, and interfaces with Customer Service, Commercial Operations. Planning & Staffing and Training.
  • Provide tooling and equipment expertise.
  • Meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, getting first-hand customer information and using it for improvements in products and services.
  • Maintain diligence on integrity, safety and quality metrics and processes.
  • Support Product Line Leaders as necessary.
  • During non-critical outage support, support in a training leadership role at our San Jose Training Facility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related degree discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry.

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Nuclear industry.

AND

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a first line supervisor for BWR/PWR reactor services.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience preparing and/or executing work orders at a nuclear facility.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
  • Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day.
  • Ability and willingness to pass respirator fit test and physical.
  • Ability and willingness to pass Fitness For Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access.
  • Ability and willingness to work under high stress conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally plant sites.
  • Ability and willingness to work 12 hours / days 7 days per week (when delivering of field projects).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior project management and/or project coordinator experience in nuclear outages is highly desired.
  • Experienced Manipulator Crane Operator is a plus.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Marine, Mechanical, or Industrial from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling activities.
  • Knowledge of BWR and PWR Vessels and Components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS), Reactor Containment Building.
  • Excellent computer skills; ability to use MS Office, MS Project.
  • Well organized and self-directed worker.

The base pay range for this position is $91,400 - 130,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 3/31/2025.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
