Lead Repair Engineer (Hot Gas Path)

Job Description Summary

As part of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology organization, the Lead Repair Engineer (HGP: Hot Gas Path) will be responsible for engineering ownership of advanced HGP components at the GE Repair Solutions Singapore (GRSS) Service Center. In this role you will coordinate with the various Power Services teams, to create standardized component repairs and processes for contractual services productivity, as well as transactional services fulfilment and growth.

Job Description

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Participate directly on core Component Engineer team
  • Integrate with regional Services Technology Team
  • Provide technical leadership to shop engineering team
  • Facilitate implementation and qualification of new repairs
  • Lead repair projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cycle using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Review and approve shop repair plans and work instructions
  • Provide technical assistance for process and quality issue resolution
  • Perform special process audits to ensure compliance with GE requirements
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams for problem solving, standardization, and best practice sharing
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Provide technology support to regional commercial repair team
  • Facilitate review and fulfillment of non-standard customer repair requests

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering/Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment
  • Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~10%)

Desired Characteristics

  • Lean training or equivalent quality training
  • Strong mechanical design and analytical background
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
