Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define parts, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and electronic data formats for analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  • Apply best practices and integrate expertise with other areas, while understanding market competition and differentiation.
  • Use judgment and analytical thinking to develop solutions for complex manufacturing processes involving technical variety or interdependent production cycles.
  • Interpret customer specifications and office standards for design applications.
  • Understand mechanical electrical schematics related to electrical enclosure design.
  • Create arrangements for automated industrial systems using AutoCAD 2015 and CREO 2.0, including electrical enclosure layouts, electrical boxes, and panel designs.
  • Design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques, incorporating ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Select standard components and hardware for designs.
  • Prepare bills of material to provide a complete manufacturing package alongside schematics and layouts.
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation and information.
  • Work as an individual contributor or early-stage team leader with interpersonal skills to hire and develop talent.
  • Offer informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of extensive experience in mechanical- electrical hardware design for low to medium voltage systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in CREO 2.0 or similar software
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced proficiency in CREO 2.0 or comparable design software.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, IEC, and UL industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, and organizational capabilities.
  • Extensive experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and automation systems.
  • Expertise in power electronics, including design and implementation.
  • Solid background in industrial control systems and their applications.
  • Comprehensive experience in panel design and layout.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
