Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Bangor is seeking a C Shift (6AM - 6:30PM) Lead Manufacturing Engineer for our Airfoil Shop. Lead Manufacturing Engineer associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities across multiple operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to support the safety, delivery, delivery, cost (SQDC) priorities.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Regular participation in monthly Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean Roadmap.
  • Support New Product Introduction.
  • Support CNC processes.
  • Support, diagnose and report process abnormalities that occur.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 7 years of manufacturing or operations experience).
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
  • Experience operating various machines and NC controls.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift- 3rd Shift- Shift (6:00AM- 6:30PM) -Weekends -Fri-Sat- Sun.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with NC Programming/CAM.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

The base pay range for this position is $80,000- $90,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
