About Position
EHS: Implementation of EHS policy & procedures of GE in design as well follow at workplace, official travelling and site
Active participation in elaboration of Conceptual, Basic, and Detailed design of Turbine Governing System.
Standardization and methodology aspects for mechanical/electrical engineering.
Functional reporting to Governing System COE leader and operationally to the SI (System Integrator)/PEM (Project Engineering Manager)

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

Primary skills -

  • Strong experience in design engineering operations involving Conceptual design, Basic & detailed design of the complete Governing system including layout and governing oil piping
  • Deliver all documents as per MDL (Mater Document List) of each project. (Calculation Note for Sizing and Calculation of HPU, Pressure Tanks, HP air system for Governor/MIV and dewatering system, Design Memorandum, P&ID, Functional Description, General Arrangement of equipment, electrical schematics, spare, O&M etc.)
  • Preparing BOQ (Bill of Quantity) and TPS (Technical procurement Specifications) for Hydraulic Power Unit, Electronic Speed Governor, Piston accumulator and Air/Oil pressure tanks, valves and instruments, HP Compressors, Air Receivers, Oleo-hydraulic equipment, Electrical boxes/ Local Control Panels etc.
  • Strong Contract analysis & R&O (Risk and Opportunities) management.

Partnership

  • Participation to design reviews with cross functional team at organization level
  • Site support during erection, commissioning, and warranty period.
  • Review and reply to customer/SI comments and update documents accordingly. Participate in meeting with customer on technical discussions.
  • Co-ordinate with supplier for documentation (follow-up and technical)
  • Co-ordinate with other functions (Project quality, Supply Chain, project planning, Construction and Commissioning etc).

Daily responsibilities-

  • ECO/ECR/BOM Loader activities in Corella/PLM.
  • Co-ordinate with supplier engineering & quality team as and when required.
  • Meeting work deadlines
  • Evaluation of technical submittals/offer by Vendor and approval on the same.
  • Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously.
  • Comply all applicable global and local standards and local regulations applicable for the county in which we are executing project.

Major responsibilities -

  • Safety (EHS) in Design.
  • Stay aligned with compliance
  • Quality in design (FPY - First Pass Yield)
  • Meet the Project Planning (as per MTS) and should execute project/activities in allotted budget.
  • Work for Global projects as per suitable time zone and requirements.
  • Collaboration with peers from other functions, participation in events, humility, transparency, focused, integrity at workplace, etc.
  • Work and win as one team, drive innovation, serve customers, work in lean way and be accountable.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have Engineering graduate degree in Electrical/Mechanical Stream or Diploma with relevant experience.
  • Exposure to Turbine and Governing System of Hydro or large power plants
  • Should have dynamic professional experience of 7 to 14 years in Governing System engineering for Hydro Power Plants or large power plants
  • Should be well versed with relevant IEC/IEEE, ASME/ISO/DIN standard of hydro governing system.
  • Expertise in software like AutoCAD and MS Office. Experience working with 3D software is preferred.
  • Good communication skill in English language (speaking and writing)

Desirable

  • Willingness to work cross-discipline, i.e. for both hydraulic as well as electrical part of governing system.
  • Willingness to support small hydro team/services team/technical tendering team as and when required.
  • Willingness to support site team for commissioning.
  • Strong command over English language, both written and spoken for global stakeholder management
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Team-player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to operate in multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Cross cultural communication sensitivity.
  • Able to work in Global Organization.
  • Travel to site/Customer/vendor place as and when required.
