Jidoka Technician located in Amarillo, TX GEAR Center
The Jidoka Technician is a critical and active role to maintain sustainable desired deliverables at Amarillo GEAR Center or facility by working daily in all related departments which encounter daily obstacles as the main point of contact. Jidoka Technician reports to Quality Manager with dotted line reports to site leadership.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Jidoka Technician you will:
- Be the direct line of communication in the instance that there is a issue introduced in the facility which may include: Missing parts, Quality issues, Production issues, Equipment issues which are non-routine daily activities or instances.
- Will maintain communication device to report to all Andon alerts in a timely manner
- Responsible for creating non-conforming reports in accordance with GE Renewable Energy's Services control of Non-conforming Materials procedures.
- • Assist in development of Quality procedures and Manufacturing Instructions to eliminate quality defects and support continuous improvement processes.
- Will be evaluated on timely responses, resolutions and engagement to facility continuous improvements.
- Will be required to work independently throughout the facility with multiple departments and areas.
- Will be required to provide sufficient resolutions and/or route resolution needs to proper department leaders or personnel.
- Will be required to perform Internal audits as required.
- Support Lean manufacturing aspects as required.
- Will be required to engage actively in the facility through direct and remote communication.
- Must create, document and record activities including improvements, best practices and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
- Will generate reports and meet/review Andon results and status with site leadership as scheduled by leadership team.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must have mechanical, quality knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Minimum 1 years experience reading and interpreting Engineering drawings, Code specifications to verify products are in compliance with the requirements set forth in these documents.
- Minimum 1 years experience or working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management System procedures.
Desired Characteristics:
- Proficient in various functions of Microsoft Office.
- Strong written/oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work with a wide with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the facility.
- Should be able to work overtime when necessary to meet operation objectives
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities.
