The ITR Aero Gas Turbine Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will be responsible for providing technical leadership on Aero GT extended scope projects. Direct and coordinate the engineering and installation design of assigned project(s) including all technical aspects of the contract from designing proposal to execution of the solution. Final engineering responsibility and decision making on project technical issues (including safety) while relying on internal technical authorities, as necessary.

Establish and manage the technical interface between all parties involved in the project including the ITR Plant & ITR Equipment teams, suppliers, customers, partners, EPC subcontractors and/or architect engineers leading by the GE VERNOVA SQDC Principles.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own the execution of one or several EO and TK projects from proposal preparation until the end of GE VERNOVA contractual obligations.
  • Manage a cross functional engineering team and executes as part of the ITR (ITO+OTR) process.
  • Develops and monitors project engineering schedule and budget.
  • Executes per applicable Power Plant Engineering processes.
  • Tracks and prioritizes resolution of project action items and critical technical issues.
  • Integrates the customer/partner and GE VERNOVA engineering schedules into overall project schedule while managing reports on project status.
  • Develops and manages project technical strategy to mitigate risk, including decisions involving the use of conceptual engineering judgment to allow the design process to proceed without full information.
  • Reviews customer specifications and communicates contract and project requirements to all design functions utilizing internal documentation systems.
  • Ensures feedback for continuous improvement using the Lessons Learned process.
  • Leads risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Provides technical support for project installation, construction, start-up and commissioning activities.
  • Executes necessary project processes including preparing comprehensive proposals, conducting project kickoff, schedule reviews, regular project team meetings, lessons learned, design freeze, customer design and project reviews, as-builts, and ensures adherence to all ISO-procedures and work instructions.
  • Supports the Project Manager on project technical issues related to engineering.
  • Enforces quality procedures and participate in their improvement.
  • Leads with a Lean mindset. Leverages Lean in the quest to reduce waste and improve customer value.
  • Practice and promotes Lean & concepts while adopting our GE VERNOVA SQDC

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Advanced (Gas Power Aero Product experience ) and knowledge in a mechanical engineering function, leading projects from start to delivery required.
  • 8 - 10 years of power plant engineering experience or related experience overall.

Other Eligibility:

  • Must be able/willing to travel >35-50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Offered in the USA only - No Visa or sponsorship or/and Relocation available.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Significant Aero derivative Turbine Technology experience in applications or/and project engineering, rotating equipment, packaging and modularization of mechanical equipment.
  • Outstanding written communication skills paired with the commercial interpersonal skills for business representing GE VERNOVA to levels of management, vendors, customers, and cultures.
  • Ability to prioritize to deliver on multiple projects/workloads.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is:$111,200.00 - $185,400.00

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
