Job Description Summary

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform mechanical and electrical repair, maintenance, inspections, and modifications to industrial overhead cranes, jib and gantry cranes, and elevators. Rig, move, and erect a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment, parts, and assemblies. Change & inspect crane & elevator cables, hooks, running ropes, slings, and lifting devices. Inspect all crane and elevator equipment as required. Perform and log PM's and work order completions in mobile devices in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work without direction on standard preventative maintenance and extensive repairs. Diagnose problems, plan and complete work required
  • Maintain and modify crane assemblies and all related equipment and facilities including, motors, guarding, drives, bearings, controls, gear boxes, etc.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fundamental and safety knowledge (schematics, precision measurement tools, LOTO)
  • Order materials as required for jobs and assists in maintaining levels of standard spare parts.
  • Utilities Powered Industrial Trucks and Aerial Lifts as necessary to access cranes and facilitate work completion
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
  • Maintains the condition of his/her workstation and assigned tools.
  • Utilizes all PPE required for diagnosis and repair of equipment. Performs all functions of confined space entry, Supervisors, Attendant, and Entrant. Utilizes all LOTO equipment and procedures

Basic Qualifications

Requirements

AAS/AOS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline OR Military Advanced Courses OR Journeyman credentials in an applicable field from a recognized apprenticeship program.

Ability and willingness to work weekends as needed or for after hour call-ins

Desired Characteristics

Minimum 3 years work experience in a heavy manufacturing environment in a technical maintenance repairman role.

Ability to apply knowledge of components, devices, and equipment used in industrial crane and elevator applications and all related mechanic and electrical requirements

The base pay range for this position is $31.33 to $35.96 per hour with a $5.28 per hour transition adder. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
