Processes and procedures related to the movement and shipment of GE goods across borders.Management. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate within a global model and execute the strategy for Customs operations in the region
  • Ensure the pre-declaration review is performed including confirmation that valuation, classification, country of origin and any applicable special program documentation is complete before an import or export occurs.
  • Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and own shipment issue resolution
  • Ensure there are trained Custom Broker personnel supporting the Customs activities.
  • Generate Duty Mandate form / Mypayment workflow/ SIMS/FIMS.
  • Daily management for all import shipments by reviewing Daily status report shared by Custom Broker.
  • Prepare periodic reports and metrics on duty, quality, savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments and value creation.
  • Lead Region Special Programs.
  • Daily management for all import shipments by reviewing Daily status report shared by Custom Broker.
  • Manage local Customs agency relationships.
  • Respond to Internal/External requests & investigations.
  • Lead and manage MOOWR operartion incluiding compliance.
  • Conduct due diligence for local / regional agents on a need basis.
  • Manage customs notices and engage legal support wherever needed.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Logistics & Customs Operations. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution
  • 6-10 years of experience in customs processes
  • Customs Broker License or on a country level equal to it.
  • Fluent business English in written and spoken.
