Job Description Summary

For Grid Solutions, Offshore HVDC represents a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business, particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets. In that context and for Germany, Grid Solutions is partnering with our clients, which plans to invest more than $30B by 2030 in deploying new HVDC converter stations to bring Offshore Wind energy into Germany and the Netherlands.
In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a HVDC Project Manager who will lead sub-projects to implement lessons learned, providing administrative and Executive Support. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. As HVDC Project Manager implementation lesson learned she / he will be responsible for her/his work packages on-time delivery, budget accountability, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities in details:

  • Maintain and constantly assess the lessons learned database together with the Quality Manager and internal key stakeholders to identify sub-projects for implementation of lessons learned.
  • This project management role will be focusing initially on leading sub-projects within the project portfolio of the 2 GW HVDC program.
  • Deliver project charters for the sub-projects, including identifying of key stakeholders, capturing the requirements and setting the objectives to ensure On-Time-Delivery ('OTD').
  • Mange the complete execution of the sub-projects and ensure the budget can be kept.
  • Ensure sub-project reviews and status reporting.
  • Manages all stakeholders in a multi-cultural cross-functional project team composed of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls (cost & planning), Finance, Contract Management.
  • Manages the internal and external communication loop, including in case required the communication with consortium partner.
  • Manages related project documentation and passing relevant project documents to third parties.
  • Independently handling sub-tasks in various projects under the guidance of the project director and / or functional manager.
  • Close the sub-projects by getting the final acceptance from the key stakeholders.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Completed commercial training or a degree in business administration.
  • Some experience in project management with the willingness to develop further.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and understanding of business management concepts.
  • You are used to use MS Teams in a remote project setup.
  • You work in a structured, independent, careful, and reliable manner.
  • Structured, solid problem-solving, strategic thinking, analytical skills
  • Ability to create trustworthy & lasting relationship with stakeholders
  • Excellent English language skills and good German skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
